Phase Two
Today marks the first day of the second trimester for me! I'm sure I would feel better if I wasn't getting over a brutal stomach bug I had yesterday. It seems like the first trimester flew by. So far it has been an easy pregnancy. The fatigue was harsh at times, but the other symptoms have been relatively mild. After having such a rough pregnancy with my son, I am hoping this pregnancy continues to be smooth sailing.
Tomorrow morning I will have another ultrasound and my doctor is going to try to determine the sex of the child. 14 weeks is early but he told me at my last visit that most of the time sex can be determined around that time. I remember having to wait much later with my daughters, but of course the quality of ultrasounds has improved dramatically since then. I can't remember when I found out with my son, I think it was around 16 weeks.
I am surprised at how well my mental health has been doing despite the hormonal upheaval of pregnancy. It helps that I am still able to take most of my meds safely, but I will have to ask if they are safe for breastfeeding. I'm pretty sure two of them aren't, but I will find out for sure at my next psychiatry appointment. I have had some mild depression here and there, but considering how severe my depression was with two of my other pregnancies, I have no complaints. Hopefully my stability will continue throughout the second and third trimester as well as postpartum. As it always is with mental health, you never know what's right around the corner, so you just have to take one day at a time. The same can be said about pregnancy.

Day of the Sloth
I have been super lazy today. I slept until 9:30 a.m. (I usually get up at 7 or 8), and I just felt so exhausted that I've camped out on the couch for most of the day. Barely 3,000 steps on my Fit Bit so far. Since the schools were out for Fall break this week I let Jacen have yesterday and today off. I had planned to do lessons every day this week because I am trying to ensure that we are able to take a break after the baby is born, but Jacen and I both need a 4 day weekend to recharge. Hopefully when we get back at it Monday Jacen will be more willing to pay attention and my patience won't be so short.
I guess I've been so tired today because my friend brought her two year old and baby over yesterday. The toddler is a mess lol and the baby was fussy due to teething. I enjoyed seeing them but it just kind of wore me out helping with the kids. I know I will have to get used to having a little one again, but I'm sorely out of practice right now.
I've been feeling a little down this week. Not truly depressed, just blah. My mind tries to take me down roads I have no business being on. The best thing is to keep myself busy, which is easy to do most days, but my only coping mechanism today has been Reese's Cups lol I have been trying to eat healthy but those darn cravings get me sometimes :)
